Chinchpokli Cha Chintamani Aagman Sohala: Traffic Notification
The Mumbai Traffic Police issued a traffic notification on August 31, 2024, announcing that a procession of Chitamani Ganpti Aagman would begin at 14.00 hours that day. The route will pass through Ganesh Takies (Parab Chowk), Sane Guruji Marg, Gas Company Junction, Dr. B.A. Road, South Bound, Sardar Hotel Junction, Dattaram Lad Marg, and finally, Chintamani Ganpati Mandal.
The advice warned that “A large crowd is expected to attend the aforesaid procession, which may lead to traffic congestion on the said route, therefore to prevent obstruction and inconvenience to the public a traffic management order was being issued.”
The following routes may be closed as needed after 14.00 hours on August 30 until the procession is finished on Saturday, according to the traffic police advise.
- Dr. B.A. Road, North Bound: There will be a traffic jam from Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction) to Hansraj Rathod Chowk (Bawla Compound Junction) will be closed.
- Dr. B.A. Road, South Bound: There will be traffic from Hansraj Rathod Chowk (Bawla Compound Junction) to Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction) will be closed.
- Sane Guruji Marg-Saint Jagnade Maharaj Chowk (Gas company junction) to Comrade Ganacharya Junction (Chinchpokali Junction) will be closed (both bound).
- Both bound will be closed for traffic from Gulabrao Ganacharya Chowk (Chinchpokli Junction) to Gangaram Talakar Chowk (S Bridge Junction) as needed.
- Curry Road, also known as Mahadev Palav Marg, will only be open in one direction. It will stay closed from Shingate Master Chowk to Comrade Krishna Desai Chowk (Bharat Mata Junction).
