Akshay Kumar’s career looks to be on the slide. His films are consistently not successful. And now there’s word that his much-anticipated film, “Welcome to the Jungle,” has been pushed back. In addition to Akshay, a number of stars were scheduled to appear in this 2023 film, including Sunil Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Raveena Tandon. Ahmed Khan was going to direct. There was a plan to release it in 2024 itself, but now it is being claimed that the makers have decided to discontinue it.
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is the third installment of the film ‘Welcome’ franchise. Anees Bazmee directed the first movie, “Welcome,” which was released in 2007. ‘Welcome Back‘, the second installment, was released in 2015. The release of “Welcome 3,” also known as “Welcome to the Jungle,” was supposed to happen on December 27, 2024, but unfortunately things aren’t going according to plan.

Claims of closure of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ have started happening ever since the announcement video of the film has disappeared from the official YouTube channel of Jio Studio. Nevertheless, it’s still unclear if Jio Studios has canceled the project or if the movie has been shelved. Yet, Akshay’s fans are undoubtedly starting to worry. Social internet is already alive with speculation because the movie has already generated controversy.
Large cast of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’
A lot was said at the time of the announcement of the film in the year 2023. It stars Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma and Sayaji Shinde, Jackie Shroff and Aftab Shivdasani were scheduled to attend.
Sanjay Dutt left the film!
However, Sanjay Dutt left the film due to date problems. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source as saying, ‘Sanjay Dutt has left the film citing date problems. He has told all the things to Akshay, who kept these things in mind and has no enmity with anyone. Sanjay Dutt felt that the shooting of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ was being done without any plan, A lot of changes are being made in the script, which is causing disturbances in his shooting diary and hence he has left the film. According to reports, Sanjay had already shot for 15 days and the producers were confused whether they should re-shoot his scenes or include his disappearance in the story.
Majnu Bhai and Uday Shetty will also not be seen.
Nana Patekar, who played the famous character of Uday Shetty in ‘Welcome’, also told how ‘Welcome 3’ lacked a story and hence he rejected the film. Speaking to ‘The Lallantop’, he said, ‘They had contacted us (him and Anil Kapoor, who played Majnu Bhai in ‘Welcome’). We refused. There is no story. Didn’t enjoy that much… ‘Welcome’ is possible only if Anil and I are there. If you remove me, he cannot make ‘Welcome’ alone. Nana Patekar also talked about how the film’s sequel ‘Welcome Back’ did not perform well at the box office.
Akshay was going to return to comedy
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is the most awaited film of this year. Due to this, Akshay was going to return to comedy after many years. Also, more than 30 actors were going to be seen. The makers have completed the first schedule of the film. However, the makers are also unable to take a decision regarding the release.
